JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Kara: Yes but it costs an arm and a leg to use.
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people?
Kara: .25 cents a min for local calls .50 for long
distance. The phone cards they sell are with
the actual phone company from jail. IT eats our
min like crazy.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Kara: Yes they have them in 5, 10, and 20 dollar cards.
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Kara: no
